​Upcoming Fundraisers:​​​​
​

  • Chicken BBQ & Pita Platters - This is an optional but DELICIOUS fundraiser that so many people look forward to each year! Platters usually include half a chicken, baked potato, apple sauce or cole slaw, and a roll. Pitas include chicken, lettuce, onion, tomato, cheese, ranch and apple sauce or cole slaw. Order forms and money are due March 20! Pick up Chicken BBQ platters and Pitas at the Old Sheetz Parking lot on March 28 (time TBD).
     

  • Smucker Garden & Brew Box Gift Card Fundraiser - Gift cards can be purchased for Smucker Gardens ($20 increments) and Brew Box ($10 increments) to be used at any time. HGSL will receive a portion of the sales. Usually it takes a week for us to get the gift cards from Smucker Gardens. This is an optional fundraiser but it a great way to help support HGSL while also taking care of your gardening and yard needs and indulging in some delicious treats from Brew Box this spring! Order forms and money are due March 20! Gift cards can be picked up April 2.
     

  • Sportsman's Gun Raffle - MANDATORY FUNDRAISER - We ask that each player sells 10 gun raffle tickets ($20/ticket). Families with more than one player are asked to sell 10 tickets for the first player and 5 tickets for each additional player. If you cannot sell your tickets, you are responsible for covering unsold tickets costs. If you are struggling to sell tickets or have any concerns, please reach out to a board member so we can help.  Profits from this fundraiser help us purchase end of the season gifts for each of the girls, upgrade team equipment, field supplies, and reach our goal of updating our concession standing. Tickets and money are due May 8! Winners will be drawn on May 15 via Facebook Live!

Proceeds from these fundraisers will be used towards league expenses (field and team equipment, supplies, upgrades, ...etc.).  A major financial contributor to our league funds is our concession stand. In 2026, we are going to focus our efforts on concession stand repairs. The priorities include a new roof, siding, new garage doors, and some shelving for better organization. We also need to a dedicated electrical outlet for our new fryer so that we can continue to offer delicious food. We would like to dedicate the majority of the gun raffle profits to these repairs.   • March 14 - Field Clean up Day 9:00 -1:00 pm

  • March 20 – Chicken BBQ Tickets and money are due AND Smucker Garden/Brew Box orders and money are due

  • March 22 - Last day to order apparel

  • March 28 - Chicken BBQ Fundraiser @ Old Sheetz (3625 Peters Mountain Road, Halifax)

  • April 2 - Team pictures 5:30 pm

  • April 2 - Smuckers/Brew Box gift cards can be picked up at the fields!

  • April 11 – SPRING OPENING DAY! More information will be given closer to the event.

  • May 8 - Gun raffle tickets and money are due

  • May 15 – Gun raffle winners are drawn via Facebook Live!​

Equipment: Dick's Sporting Goods Coupons (In-store only & used throughout 2026)

  • ALL HGSL players are REQUIRED to wear a fielding mask (plastic or metal) at all times while playing on the field.

  • Glove

  • Batting helmets MUST have a face mask attached to the helmet.*

  • Bat*

  • Black softball/baseball pants

  • Cleats

  • High socks (most likely black but coaches may ask for a different color)

  • It is nice for players to have their own bag to put all of their gear into at the end of practice/games so that it does not get lost.

*Most girls have their own helmet and bat but we do have some extras in the equipment shed.

We have some (smaller sized) used equipment that was donated if anyone would like to look at the equipment prior to purchasing new equipment, please reach out to HGSL on facebook or via email.
